Cultural resources management is the practice of managing cultural resources. Cultural resources (also known as heritage resources, heritage assets, cultural heritage, and other terms) have historic, artistic, scientific, geophysical, or environmental qualities that contribute to our broader knowledge and culture. They may be sites, objects, landscapes, structures, or natural features considered significant to the people with which they are associated. Cultural resources are protected by federal, tribal, and local laws and regulations and are often the subject of consideration as part of environmental review and compliance activities.
